We made it home from our Florida trip. Along for the ride was Ty Brown, Aaron Green, Trip Bartlett, Justin Fyle, Ty Rohde, Cory, Jack and we meet up with Nick Zizzo once we made it to Naples. We spent time all around Florida including Orlando, Naples, Ft. Myers, Miami, Sarasota, Tampa, St. Augustine, and everywhere in between. It was an eventful trip. Many miles were logged in the van and the cameras. We Surf Expo'd, cruised the strip in South Beach, made it across Alligator Alley, Tampa Am'd, spend alot of time filming and skating, meet new friends and hung out with old ones. We also smashed the fisheye, broke the housing on the vx1000, lost money at the Casino, spend way too much money on gas and lotto tickets, and half of the crew had a cold the whole time. Of course those were just minor set backs... the good out weighs the bad. Look for a montage in the near future.

We're leaving in the morning for a trip to Florida. First stop is Orlando for Surf Expo. From there we are going to visit friends at Street One in Naples and Brotherhood in Ft. Well, the fella's left Colorado early due to a crazy situation and an ungodly amount of wind. If you don't know wind is worse than skating in rain.. Sucks. Anyway, they are now in Las Vegas, Nevada. From what I hear they are getting a lot of footage and skating a lot of good spots. Rumor has it Jack lost more than his shirt at the black jack table. I hope Ty takes the Nobyl card from him. jk, I think Jack broke even, or thats what he is saying..hmmmm. ......Oh yeah, Aaron Greens dog does the moon walk for beer, he is now Nobyl's official mascot. Well, our trip got off to a weird start. Ty's car broke down just short of Ashville, NC, about 3 hours into the trip. Luckily Chuck and Troy Brown (Ty's Kin Folk) were on point and brought us the Jeep. So for the next 21 hours we ventured across this great nation of ours until finally reaching Colorado Springs, Colorado. Actually we are staying outside of Colorado Springs in a town called Pueblo. Weird place. With no running water at the house we are getting ready to battle a windy day and go skate. Oh yeah, Aaron got a hair cut and its a good one, pictures coming soon. Keep checking back for more on our Epic trip across America.

Team Kevin's update from this weekend...
People asked me why I drove from Augusta, GA to Sumter, SC on Friday night. Simple. While I am alive I want to live. Being there for a day of skating with your bros is worth it. One day you can go out to a spot and collectively get over 3 minutes of usable footage. You can go to the same spot two weeks later with much of the same crew and get the exact opposite...very little footage and two extremely battered skaters. The difference in days could probably be attributed to energy. This energy is formed when everyone is landing tricks all while being caught on film. Its opposite is negativity fed by the first painful slam…until the last man standing falls. On Friday at the new spot in Sumter (I did not witness it but) both Bill and Dusty took a beating from the Gnar. Even though that knowledge might stop a normal person from going the next day, we proudly hopped on the road to the spot. CJ, Ty, Adam, Nick, Bret, and my humble self Team Kevin, took the young filmer hopeful, Double A, to the new spot for Epic battles with the Gnarly. The first fall was Carl Jr. (and his new tattoo bearing the same name). He tried to ollie the big loading ramp from the top of the big dock. Funny story, he landed on his wheels and slid out on his third try. I was really into it. He then talked himself in to another attempt. GCJ (Gnarly Carl Jr.) bounced off the payment somewhere between his ass and his head. I am pretty sure I heard his head rebound off the ground and it was kind of a bummer. For some reason that fall was not hard enough. Nick needed to n'up him, trying a gap to lipslide over the stair gap. When we all watched the film for the first time, we laughed when GCJ fell. Why? Probably because it is easy to laugh in relief when the person walks away. But when the cold truth of injury and time off your board become a reality, nobody laughs. Nobody laughed at Nick's fall. He seems to think his foot broke from the contorted position in which he landed. We all hope that it is not the case and Nick quickly recovers. The point is, skateboarding is something you can do on your own, but it sure makes a difference in the energy when you experience it with your bros. We roll together, suffer rockbite together, and at the end of the day we watch the footage. Once again, I would like to thank the guys at Nobyl, for making this weekend absolutely slamtastic. Something big is coming, and I know all will appreciate. TK
P.S. CJ dominated the Karaoke mic on Sat with raw sex appeal.
P.S.S. We all dominated the dance floor on Saturday night, OH YEAH!!!

Another update from Team Kevin...
I turn 35 in a couple of months, and up until Saturday, I had never gotten the oppurtunity to ride in a full pipe. For some of you little kiddies out there, that might not be a big deal, but for myself and those others that share a love for riding a skateboard, it is the holy grail of skateboarding. It is that lost city of El Dorado, and it is the fountain of youth that we all so long for all tied into one. It is the place where transition never meets the flat and holding on is the only thing that matters. And for a short time, it exists in Charleston. Jack, Ty, Aaron, Miguel, Camden John (who we thought we forgot on several occasions because he is so quiet,) and my humble self, Team Kevin, embarked on a one day trip to Chucktown, to meet up with JT, Peeler, Nick, Dusty, Austin, Will, The Buccinator, Adam, Switch Tom, and Buffalo Dan, in order to ride a full pipe that was in storage in Charleston for a short time. Hit it up while you can is our motto. Funny story, Dan drank so much the night before because of Adam's B-day (Happy B-day,) that he didn't actually make it out until 7pm which was kind of a bummer. We first got to The Park around noon and skated for about an hour to warm up. This was my first time at the park, and I must say I like it. You should go and support it. After we got the juices flowing we drove out to an undisclosed location, where a pipe, at least 20ft across, was sitting on the side of the ocean. Amazing!! Apart from the wheel size holes in the side of it, and the 5lb screws holding it to the storage lot, it was actually pretty smooth. Rust dust was all over it, so that made it much more slick, which pulled the gnar factor up another notch. Within minutes we were rippin' it. Aaron was flying over the steel cable supports inside trying to go as high as possible. I was doing everything I could to hold on, while off in the distance you could hear my theme song, "FEE, FI, FO, FUM, I smell the blood...." Ty was skating the gnar and smacked his head harder than he will admit it. But I can tell you it was really bad, he just hasn't seen or heard the footage yet. Nick from Bluetile ollied the steel cable, then came back and nollied the cable because Nick is a beast who does not want to be called Nickelmac. JT floated to the top of this pipe was ease, making some of the highest wheel marks on the wall with a smile, while Nobyl Jack was the first and only one to go all the way around the loopty-loop hanging ten. No lie, that just happened and it blew our minds. The only downside of the day was Peeler losing his board in the ocean, while him and Adam were jumping a barge gap. Afterwards, we went back to the Park and had an epic session, which included Dusty switch varial heelflipping the new doubleset at the Park. After that he didn't throw his board anymore. Oh yeah, Dan switch tre'd the double set followed by a fs bigspin down it. Aaron and the Buccinator might as well have been battling on the rail because they both were TERRORIZING it!!! Including several fs feebs, a couple of back 5's and tailslide to fakie. Both of those guys have a timecard and they clock in for work. Camden John always seemed to be laying flips over hips in the background, when he was on the trip. He did disappear a few times and we think he might have left and come back when we weren't looking. I would be sorely remiss if I didn't mention the early grab air over the 4 stair that I hammered into the ground while the young master Will was banging on the rail, but I feel it necessary to mention it, in order to keep this blog from being kind of a bummer. Interesting side note, CJ has the sickest footage ever. Never ask to see it. You will feel unclean. The next day we decided to go back to the pipe and shred some more. OK, so we got kicked out the first time, that doesn't mean we can't come back again later right? I guess it does, because the "guard dog" on duty, came back and locked us in the parking lot with the hoy grail of skateboarding, while he sat on the other side of the fence waiting for the Citizens on Patrol, or COPS as they are known on TV. That's right, we were locked in a parking lot like fish in a barrel, waiting to talk to the police. And as you expect it to be, the cops showed up in a timely manner to tell us that they "used to skate when they were young," but we still were trespassing. Did I mention the cop asked for Tony Hawk when he walked up. Funny story. He then proceeded to give us trespassing notices for skating the full pipe. Trespassing notices. I got to skate a full pipe this weekend, and all I get is a tresspassing notice?! Where do I sign, SUCKAS?!! Best session of the year, I will proudly hang that trespassing notice on the wall like a certificate of achievement. Bottom line is, once again I went skating with the guys from Nobyl, and it was epic. Whether it was the 18yr old young guns like Aaron and Camden John, to the old rockets like myself, a chance to ride a full pipe does not come along that often, and all of us came away in appreciation. Big props given to Jack for driving and thanks to all that came along for the ride.
Ps Dan kickflip to fakie and bs flip in the pipe during the same run.
Pss I feel somewhat socially awkward.

Febuary 12th, 2007
Epic weekend. Footage is coming soon but first a story from Saturday night...
Being as it just happened, I feel that it is necessary to document this evening, so as to put it down as one of the strangest, yet f'n, shit'n nights in a loonnnngggg time. One van, and one car of degenerate skateboarders from all over the SC, choosing a particular japanese low budget restaurant to dine. I must include that Stacie was along for the meal as well, so there was a lady present. Cory, Jack, Carl Jr., Bret, Will, Pat, Adam, Aaron, and my humble self, Team Kevin, went to the Osaka japanese restaurant in Sumter, SC for dining pleasure. Enter one extremely funny, chinese, skateboarding, waiter, that not only rides a blank deck, but buys it from an online superstore. Oh, he does buy Element skateboards when he has enough for them. This guy was priceless. He told us how he could ollie a 16" trash can, because he uses ankle weights. Wow!!! I never heard of that, he does remind me of a particular commie from Cola, that tried to convince us that plastic composite was the way of the future in skateboarding, but that it is another laugh. This waiter would not stop cracking jokes at us, about something we did, or the way we looked. None of us ride Adio dude! Anyway, Even though I must admit we kind of kept it going of some sorts, this kid went to far. Aaron, all of a sudden, reminded him of the red headed kid in the Harry Potter books. Which is true, but he doesn't get to laugh at it, only we get to laugh at it. When he had offended Aaron to the breaking point, he then challenged Aaron, insisting that he would dominate the Pube because he was wearing the ankle weights at that very moment. Funny story. Aaron then got out of his seat in which Cory had to step in, and I quote, say to Carl Jr. "dude, What are you doing?" When all had resumed their seats, Cory then proceeded to explain to the chinese skateboarder, that is not down with Continuum, that enough was enough and we just wanted to leave. "Could you please leave, so we could please leave?" asked Cory. Now, I wish I could tell you that as Aaron swung on this dude, that immediately 14 ninjas dropped from the ceiling, and we began to rule their asses with our non-urban style, cause you know how we roll when we roll that f'n deep like that, but it was actually kind of a bummer. we calmly did the right thing. We paid our bill and left. It taught me something very important, that I hope to impart on all that beg the question, "What does it take to be a skateboard?" It takes a group of bros, that first of all buy their boards from a skateshop, support their local board companies, and promise to stay humble all the time. I would like to give thanks to the reps from Sumter, Nobyl, Charleston and Columbia, that gave their heart for the hardest f'n laugh this weekend. Layback acid drop sighting today. By the way, this was the greatest blog done at this spot ever.
down to earth,
Team Kevin

New spray colors should be available the beginning of February.
We will try to update the website if we are able to while on the road. If not, expect a big update in a week and a half.
